Friends For Life Supportive Housing

Friends for Life: AIDS Resource Center/Life Skills is operated under the Friends for Life foundation. This project provides assistance to persons who are homeless and HIV+ to obtain permanent housing and educational skills that will enable them to live autonomously with access to medical and social service care. SHP also makes it possible for the project to provide housing to 40 homeless persons each year, as well as leasing assistance for the initial security deposit and rent for six months. Additionally, participants receive basic employment skills training.

Note: Grant funds awarded under the 1997 SHP have been expended. Friends for Life is no longer operating. However, the project received renewal funding under the 2002 SHP for the continued delivery of services and has been undertaken by another organization.
