|Under the general direction of the Parking Garage Manager, performs responsible supervisory work assisting in directing the activities of the City-Parish Parking Garage. Work involves scheduling, training and supervising employees in the daily activities and management of the Parking Garage. Work also involves coordinating monthly parking contracts and event parking contracts. Employees of this classification are subject to unusual working hours, including weekends and nights. Supervision is exercised over a moderate sized staff of Parking Garage Supervisors, Parking Garage Attendants I and II, and clerical staff. Performs other work as requested.|
|ESSENTIAL WORK TASKS|
|Supervises, trains and schedules a moderate sized staff engaged in issuing parking vouchers, collecting parking fees and reconciling monies collected with parking receipts; records daily revenues.
Coordinates hours of operation and determines number of employees required on nights and weekends to coincide with downtown activities requiring public parking.
Maintains specialized files and records; records and reconciles monthly expenditures; prepares bills; orders supplies and equipment.
Coordinates monthly parking contracts with outside agencies and employees; types contracts and other documents; posts payroll parking deductions.
Coordinates contracts for event parking; maintains inventory of event tickets issued to Parking Garage Supervisors.
Maintains personnel records; coordinates vacations and other interacting personnel matters.
|KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES|
|Knowledge of the operations of public parking garages.
Knowledge of record keeping involved in collecting monies and issuing receipts.
Knowledge of modern management, principles and practices.
Ability to analyze public parking requirements and schedule appropriate number of employees necessary for downtown events.
Ability to effectively supervise a moderate size staff.|
|Ability to deal with the public with tact and courtesy.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

|EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE|
|High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate of competency, and three years experience involving both public contact and bookkeeping, fiscal record keeping or accounting duties, including one year supervisory experience.|
|Any equivalent combination of education and experience.|
