Our Mission of the East Baton Rouge Parish Head Start/Early Head Start Program is to provide high-quality, comprehensive programs relating to health, disabilities, education, and family services to eligible low-income families and their children.

Head Start Administration
8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday

Head Start Centers
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday

Hours of Attendance for children
8 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday–Friday, except for scheduled early dismissal days

What are the requirements for Head Start?
Must be age eligible. The family must be income eligible.

When does enrollment begin for Head Start?
The application process begins in January, and enrollment is in August.

Does Head Start provide transportation?
Yes, at some centers and determined by center boundaries.

Does my child have to attend the Head Start in his/her area?
No, transportation is provided at certain centers and within center boundaries.
