Yes, Delmont serves zip codes 70812, 70811, some of 70805,
some of 70818 and

Each community center serves different zip codes.
What types of services do you have to offer at Delmont Service Center?
The Delmont Service Center through the Office of Social Service offers a variety of services to eligible
households such as: rent, mortgage, and utility assistance, project
care for seniors, and prescriptions filled with a maximum of fifty
dollars. We also serve as an emergency food pantry that requires a
documented emergency, food for seniors (40 lbs.), a monthly
distribution for seniors meeting income guidelines and quarterly
commodities distributed every 3 months to eligible households.

What type of programs and activities do you provide for Senior Citizens?
Seniors may apply for assistance with their utility bills, emergency rent and
mortgage assistance, and with new prescriptions when funds are
available.

Yes, Delmont is a VITA site to E-File your taxes. Please call for an appointment.
Is there a medical center located in your facility?
Yes, the
Delmont Service Center is home to the Howard Medical Clinic. For more

Does the Center offer any type of free classes?
Yes, we offer classes in crocheting, dance for Seniors, drama, and beginner computer classes.
Are the two multi-purpose rooms available for use to the public?
Yes, the two multi-purpose rooms are available to rent for church functions,
wedding receptions, retirement dinners, and etc. Each room comes with
the use of the kitchen, tables, and chairs. You may call the center
for rental rates, procedures and guidelines.
Are there any food programs available at the center?
Yes, there is a program that gives seniors (60 years and above) 40 lbs. of food on
the first Thursday of each month. That program is called Food for
Seniors. Also, quarterly commodities are given to those that qualify
and live in the center’s zip code area.
How do I apply for Food for Families?
Food for Families is administered by the Catholic Diocese of New Orleans. You may reach their office by calling 1-800-522-3333.
How do you qualify for Quarterly Commodities?
To apply for quarterly commodities that are given every three months, you may
come into the center and bring in a picture ID, Current Proof of Income, Social Security Numbers for each household member,
and you must live in one of the center’s zip code areas of: 70805, 70811, 70812, 70818 & 70839.
Is there office space for rent at your facility?
Yes, we occasionally have office spaces available for rent. Please call the center for information.
Does the center provide toys for children of low-income families at Christmas?
Yes. Applications are taken three weeks prior to the distribution of toys.
We ask for one canned good per child that will be given to the Greater
Baton Rouge Food Bank.
