Riverfront Master Plan
The consulting team of Hargreaves Associates, Eskew+Dumez+Ripple, Remson Haley and the Corps of Engineers have begun the preliminary design process for the Master Plan of future Riverfront Development.
The final design is expected to be complete by the summer of 2006. |

Hilton Capitol Center
The transformation of the old Heidelberg Hotel on Lafayette and Convention Streets into a 300-room Hilton Hotel is currently in progress. The windows are being installed and the interior is being framed

River Place Condominiums
Baton Rouge’s first high-rise residential tower will give breath taking views of Downtown and the Mississippi River. The project will break ground in 2006 and is expected to take two years to complete. The architects for

LACAP Federal Credit Union
The new headquarters for the LACAP Credit Union will be located at the corner of 7th and Main Streets and will rise five stories, containing 80,000 sq. ft. of office space. The architect for the project is Brinson

Kress, Welsh & Levy Buildings
Chairman of the DDD Commission, Brace B. Godfrey, will convert these abandoned buildings into multi-story mixed-use buildings; housing residential, retail, and commercial spaces. The project is in its early planning stages
and is being designed by Chenevert Architects. Construction on the project should begin by the end of 2006. |

Cox Communications Wires Downtown
Cox Communications is currently running fiber optic lines below the streets and sidewalks downtown in an effort to bring high-speed internet access, cable, and the latest in entertainment
technologies to the city center. The project should be completed in the first quarter of 2006. |

Gordon’s Building
The redevelopment of 232 Third Street into a mixed-use development (retail, office and residential) should begin in January 2006. Chenevert Architects, the owners and designers for the project will locate

Dimensions in Design
450 Main Street
Baton Rouge Interior Designer Shelley Landry will move her design studio Dimension in Designs from Perkins Road to Main Street downtown in 2006. While half of the building will be used for the design offices,

Belisle Building
Renovations of this Third Street Building will include adding a third story and incorporating modern
elements with the existing façade. The building will be the new headquarters for MAPP Construction Company, as well as a mixed-use project including retail on the first floor. The architects for the project are Remson Haley Herpin

Downtown Wayfinding Signage Program
The city installed the mock up designs for the way finding signage in February
2006. The project is now entering the final design stage with a bid package scheduled for release summer 2006. The project designers are WHL Architects and Sasaki Associates Landscape Architects. For additional

Laurel Street Tower
The proposed 18-story tower will be located at the corner of Laurel and Fifth Streets. The project will include
up to 10 stories of parking, several floors of commercial office space, as well as several floors of condominiums. The tower also has the potential to serve as a transit station for the city's CATS Transportation Services. The project

19th Judicial Courthouse
The new 19th Judicial Courthouse will be built on the site of the current municipal building parking lot. The building will rise approximately 8 stories above North Boulevard and will be on direct axis with the State Capitol
