Work assignments are received both orally and in writing. Work is performed with independence in decision making within established guidelines, policies, rules and regulations. Work is reviewed through observation, conferences, reports and results obtained. Performs other work as requested. | | | | ESSENTIAL WORK TASKS | | Plans, assigns, directs, evaluates, and participates in the work of the unit.
Reviews the daily entries and makes necessary changes; prepares more complex entries and transactions; prepares detailed reports and analyses; completes year-end reports for the completion of the annual audit.
Assists in the preparation of an annual budget request.
Resolves customer complaints and issues relating to sewer user and solid waste billings.
Prepares statistics for performance measurement.
Reviews various exception reports for the annual re-averaging of sewer customer accounts; approves rate changes as necessary. | | | | | KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES | | Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations controlling budgetary and internal record keeping activities for governmental units.
Knowledge of City-Parish ordinances and regulations relating to sewer and solid waste fees.
Knowledge of accounting and record keeping principles and practices.
Knowledge of data processing as it relates to the accounting and record keeping.
Skill in the use of modern office equipment such as, the telephone, typewriter, copier, calculator, computer terminal and related peripherals.
Ability to plan, assign, direct and evaluate the work of subordinates.
Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, subordinates, the public and billing agents.
