The City of Baton Rouge joined the Cities of Service coalition last year and we have been working hard to develop impactful initiatives to address some of our City’s most crucial needs.
Baton Rouge’s first Chief Service Officer has created a high-impact service plan to achieve measurable progress on pressing local challenges. While Baton Rouge has experienced a long history of dedicated volunteers through non-profit organizations, civic leagues, and corporations there has never been a coordinated plan to bring these entities together to address priority city needs.
As Mayor-President, I am keenly aware of the strong volunteer ethic in Baton Rouge and believe that we can build on that ethic and create an even stronger commitment to volunteerism.
I invite you to explore our Baton Rouge Proud Impact Initiatives. It is my hope that Baton Rouge Proud will challenge more Baton Rougeans to consider their role in strengthening our community. Whether we are re-energizing our neighborhoods or helping our youth acquire the skills for success, we are doing so with a spirit of giving that will enhance the vitality of our city.
