Mission
The Inventory Section of the Purchasing Division maintains the City-Parish fixed and movable assets inventory control, and handles public auctions for surplus City-Parish material, vehicles and equipment.
Performance Measures
Inventory value at year end 2010 was $162 million, compared with $156 million for 2009. The 2010
auctions generated approximately $561 thousand vs approximately $982.9 in 2009 in sales. A portion of the proceeds from the auctions is retained to
operate and maintain auction facilities at the East Lot.

To improve upon present property tagging procedures by gathering information necessary to implement Bar Coding procedures and, To improve on communications between departments/agencies and our Inventory Staff to permit viewing of surplus property.
