Volunteers of America, GBR - Turner Plaza - Innovative Housing Program

Turner Plaza (Innovative Housing Program) is operated under the Volunteers of America Foundation with the Baton Rouge Housing Authority to use available permanent housing for homeless individuals that are disabled. Funded by the Supportive Housing Program, the project serves to coordinate the placement of its clients into 30 permanent housing units. Other supportive services provided under SHP includes the development of individualized service plan, assistance with managing permanent housing, supportive counseling, transportation and travel training, and setting consumer and vocational goals. Grant funds awarded under the 1999 SHP have been expended. The project received a three year renewal funding under the 2002 SHP for the continued delivery of services.
