LIFTD/WCRC  - Continuum of Care Supported Organization

The Louisiana Industries for the Disabled/Women's Community Rehabilitation Center is a structured, reality-oriented Residential Treatment Program with a vocational focus. The Supported Living Program is the only supported living program of its kind for homeless mentally ill women in the Baton Rouge area. Services are provided to homeless mentally ill women, with or without children, who could have a history of substance abuse or be dually diagnosed. The program provides case management support services to approximately 30 homeless mentally ill women to obtain permanent housing, to assist clients to access permanent housing, as well as to maintain their living situation until they reach self-sufficiency. SHP funds provide for supportive services to assist with payment of case management services and other client assistance expenses. Grant funds awarded under the 1997 SHP have been expended. The project received one year renewal funding under the 2002 SHP for the continued delivery of services.
