2012 Explorer Post Meeting Schedule

Explorers Application Form
 (Microsoft Word format)

The East Baton Rouge City-Parish Department of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) sponsors an Explorer Post for youth 15-18 years of age interested in pre-hospital emergency medical care.

Since 1983 this highly successful program has trained and mentored hundreds of young adults. Many of them are now active in the medical community pursuing careers as physicians, nurses, paramedics and other health related fields.

For this "First Nighter" meeting it is important that both a parent and the prospective Explorer attend. During this brief meeting we will review what is expected from both the Explorer and the Program. Following the meeting you will have the opportunity to sign up to join the program and parent signatures will be required to obtain permission for your son or daughter to participate.

Upon successful completion of our class, they will be eligible to participate in our Paramedic ride-along program. This program allows them to work with and observe EMS Paramedics as they perform their job. They can also participate in the numerous ongoing activities that the Explorer members plan.

For additional scheduling or training information please call 389-5155 or email Andre Toups, Deana Misenheimer, Mike Misenheimer.
