that make outstanding contributions in promoting fire safety.
Our goal is to provide the necessary educational tools/materials
needed to educate the public. We focus on educating children and the

Fire Prevention Committee Poster Contest
The Fire Prevention Committee is comprised of citizens throughout the City of Baton Rouge and is a support organization of the Baton Rouge Fire Department. Their goal is to educate the general public in fire prevention and fire
safety techniques, and to honor and recognize those members of the Baton Rouge Fire Department who have made an outstanding contribution in serving the citizens of Baton Rouge. Additionally, this committee sponsors a poster
contest each year during National Fire Prevention Week.
We would like to ask that you to take a few minutes to consider having your students grades K-5 to participate in this year’s poster contest.
Each school that participates in the contest needs to select a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner from each grade that participates. Your school then submits to the Fire Prevention Committee the 1st place winners only. These
posters are combined with other school’s 1st place winners for final judging by the committee. The committee picks a winner from each grade level for a total of six winners. These six overall winners are invited to the
annual Fire Prevention Banquet. For more information please contact David Sevier at 354-1431.
